Gerchech Massacre : Abiy forces killed more than 200 civilians in North Gojam ,Amhara region, Ethiopia

Gerchech massacre in Amhara region, another barbaric attack of Ethiopian regime forces revealed. Eye witnesses said more than 200 people killed.
The situation in Ethiopia's Amhara region as of October 2024, multiple attacks on civilians reported.
In the Amhara region of North Gojam zone, South Mecha Woreda, Gerchech town (ገርጨጭ ከተማ), between October 11th to 14th, 2024 due to drone attack and extrajudicial killings ,a seven (7) months Pregnant woman, including 9 year old child killed by Abiy Ahmed brutal forces.

በወረዳው ዋና ከተማ ገርጨጭ ከጥቅምት 01 እስከ ጥቅምት 04/2017 ዓ.ም. በድሮን ጥቃት እና በዘፈቀደ በተፈጸሙ ጥቃቶች ህጻናትን ጨምሮ ሽማግሌዎች እንዲሁም ወጣቶች መገደላቸውን የሟች ቤተሰቦች እና ነዋሪዎች ተናግረዋል።
According to BBC's eye witnesses, on October 11, 2024 (mid-day) ,a drone attack which targeted a health facility, Mehal Genet health station, killed eight civilians including a child (nine years old). In the drone attack a Pharmacist killed and others wounded, health facility, and households destroyed.

On October 11, 2024 evening, ENDF soldiers went door to door and killed children, youngsters, and old people. Locals described the extra judicial killings as "Abiy forces killed civilians as a revenge". The arbitrary killings of Abiy forces happened after Fano freedom fighters left the vicinity.

One professional said the professionals in Mehal Genet health center left the area, and that the health center which served more than 25,000 people a year was closed down.
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) told BBC it is investigating civilian casualties and damages to public facilities resulting from the conflict in Gerchech.
Gerchech Massacre is one of the deadliest under reported massacres in the ongoing war in Amhara.
The dictatorial Abiy Ahmed Ethiopian regime sent 40,000 additional forces to the Amhara region, in which it was called “final campaign”.
Civilians in the Amhara region continued to suffer as there is no sign of justice and neutral investigation held including for Merawi massacre.
