A mother killed by Abiy Ahmed forces in front of her child. A child been shot and

found bleeding.

On October 10, 2024,Asbera Mohammed, a mother of two from North Shewa zone, Asagrit Wereda,  Soten Kebele, in the Amhara region of Ethiopia killed by ENDF.

At the time where she was killed, Asbera Mohammed were walking peacefully holding her child in her back.

Disturbing video footage on social media circulating (This is a graphic content) shows a mother's body lied on the ground and a child covered with blood near his mother dead body.

In 2023, Abiy Ahmed’s government started a full scale war in Amhara region which he named an operation against Fano, declaring a state of emergency in Amhara by August. The fascist Ethiopian government, supported by the military and special forces, backed the Amhara genocide which is happening right now in Ethiopia. Abiy forces has been accused of human rights abuses including extrajudicial killings, mass arrests, and collective punishment of civilians in Amhara. 

Drone strikes, destruction of property, and systematic efforts to dismantle Fano forces have been reported, with numerous civilian casualties documented. Over 3,300 civilians have reportedly been killed in these operations, with widespread displacement, and serious violations like sexual violence and the destruction of basic infrastructure, such as schools and healthcare facilities.

In addition, some reports suggest that soldiers from the Oromo region, disguised in ENDF uniforms, were involved in targeting Amhara communities, adding an ethnic dimension to the violence.

The use of these tactics has raised alarms about the potential for broader ethnic conflict and the further destabilisation of Ethiopia.
